In this monologue from the play, “Just My Luck”, Rosemary finally gets bingo and is in for a wild ride.
ROSEMARY: Ooh! Ooh! BINGO! Bingo! BINGOOOOO! Oh my heavens, I haven’t won in FOREVER. Gladys, take a picture of me. (Poses for a picture) I know, ladies, I know you’re sad about this, this was the big one, but hey it was my time. Ooh! I’ve been through such a dry spell that I thought maybe I’d upset the Bingo gods lately. I was about to make a human sacrifice. Sorry, Clara, it would have been you, sweetie. Nothing personal! You’re just the oldest one here, so I figure… I SAID, YOU’RE THE OLDEST ONE H– Nevermind. Oh my god, it’s me! I can’t remember the last time I felt this good. Actually, actually, I can. March 11th, 1978, when my Harold got on one knee, and… let’s just say, he wasn’t proposing yet. (Laughs) Oh don’t boo me, you just wish you were me right now. Well it’s my prize! It’s all mine and I won’t share it with any of you! Except you, Doris. We’re besties. But I’m not taking any of you sour losers to Mongolian Grill with this $50 Mongolian Grill gift card. So, I should be classy, but you can SUCK IT! That’s right, Beatrice. I know you’re faking your broken arm by the way. She just wants extra pudding! So take me in while you can because Rosemary and Doris are hitting the town! Well, the strip mall. But close enough! Au revoir!
